The H's nightmare comes true!
We have got a kitten. I think I need to re-download picasso to put up photos of Jasper up. He is grey and fluffy with stripes starting to appear. He is pretty quiet, really likes people and is going through his so active I will chase my tail phase. The blessing and I are delighted.

The H isn't that fond of cats. Or animals. But he is living with Jasper, who likes to climb up the H's leg. However, what really upset the H was the Blessing saying in the pool Monday night that she was a Man U supporter. He thinks he has straightened her out. I am just hopeful that one trip to casulty later, she is going to stop putting money in her mouth because she might swallow it and then worried grandparents will insist on x-rays. (I figure people swallow ballons of heroin, surely little girls can survive swallowing pound coins?).

My parents will be heading back to the states tomorrow. They have been over to look after the Blessing and well, my father has built me a gym. Today he may be painting me a wall. Anyway we are off to a local pub (which is going to be pulled down and replaced with holiday flats) and I think I will order some of this man's oysters.

I had this roommate at University...
That isn't strictly true. I had a roommate at university (who I loved! Except for killing my plant she was perfect) and she had a boyfriend and he threw Gor Parties. No, I never attended any. But as I did seem to spend an inordinate amount of my adolescence in the local library which wasn't that big, I suppose it isn't a complete surprise to say I did read a bit of John Norman as a teenager. The whole Kur thing never seemed that believable of a plot device to me. And well the sex thing was never really adequately explained if you ask me.

Reading about Elvis makes me feel slightly less shameful about being chased by a waitress into the parking lot for not leaving a big enough tip. We were starving and broke students. Who went for the martinis.

So I am now 40. And though I don't feel 40, I am beginning to suspect that I am becoming middle-aged. Went to a tropical island for my birthday. Managed to get sunburn on my sunburn despite repeatedly applying sunblock and sitting in the shade. No, I did not stay out until 3 am merenguing or bacchating or whatever. Instead, I found myself wandering around and looking at the trees. This was my favorite tree. And yes, I smoked a cigar on my birthday. A vanilla flavoured one.

A friend sent me this. I suppose on the plus side, the people I know may have placed but at least they didn't wear matching shirts!

Just like the state of nature, nasty, brutish and short...I was always fond of the nickname 'Craxi'...Sometimes I cook, sometimes I tend bar, sometimes I even knit. Mostly I try not to read the plethora of government publications that cross my desk and write one page summaries.
favorite food: lobster. ben and jerry's ice cream
favorite show: CSI
favorite drink: grey goose vodka (with ice, it doesn't need anything else)
age: far older than I like to admit/contemplate
